From the Front Porch
Happy Friday from the front porch friends! How has your week been? Good I hope. This week has been the perfect mix of work and play. I met my mom and one of my aunts for a bit of shopping, I spent some time at the bookstore and dinner with my bestie S and somehow, we’ve found ourselves in the midst of two mini bathroom makeovers. We’re currently on the hunt for three different rugs too
I don’t know what it is about this time of year but I start to feel a little bit of panic when I look at the calendar and see it’s just a few short weeks until August. Do you? I’m excited about getting a new planner and some school supplies though. I totally have a weakness for the school supply aisle even though I’ve been out of graduate school for a while now ha ha.
Is it hot where you guys are? Here too! It feels like there’s a heating blanket following me around town. We had picked up a few plants for the butterfly garden redo but I’m afraid to buy anymore until the crazy heatwave and afternoon thunderstorms ease up a bit. I don’t want the plants to get damaged, you know?
Scenes from my week:
*It’s taken some time but this little lady is starting to act like herself again. My sweet sunshine, Talladega was her everything and Jelly Bean just hasn’t been herself since Tally passed away. She’s letting us hold her a little bit more each day which feels reassuring she’ll be back on track soon. Our vet told us she would grieve but we weren’t really sure what to expect. She’s such a sweetie, we’ll do whatever it takes to make her happy again. Thanks so much for all your continued prayers and checking in. It really does mean the world to us!
*I think we may have found a rug for the half bath. Yeah!
*What my office really looks like after a day of thrifting and estate sale shopping – hello, scary bidness
*I’ve started writing in my gratitude journal again. It’s just a great way to wind down the day #amiright
*Currently reading (more like studying every page ha ha ) in this book. If you like a mix of masculine and feminine, black and white, old and new, high end and low end this book is for you.

Hey CoCo – We’ve been worried about sweet Jelly Bean and how she would handle the loss of her companion. Continued prayers and hugs for you all. On an uplifting note…love the Beekman boys and all that they do! Wouldn’t it be fun to travel to NY to visit them? #girlstrip
Aww, thanks so much for you concern on Jelly. We really appreciate it. She’s such a sweetie pie and when she’s mopey or doesn’t want to be held it worries us. A girls trip to the Beekman Farm would be so. much. fun. We would be screaming with excitement all the way up the drive! Hugs, CoCo
