From the Front Porch

Happy Thursday from the front porch you guys. Did you have a good week? We hope so!

How crazy is it that we’re in the last week of September? We’re all kinds of excited now because, hello, it’s officially Fall. Although we do have to say, someone should probably clue in our hot and sticky Florida weather.

We’ve seen so many people sharing the prettiest pumpkin displays along with boots and sweaters already and we’re totally jelly ?

This week has been filled with lots of interruptions and almost all the projects I had scheduled have taken me at least 3 times longer to complete than I had planned. Couple that with dodging rain clouds (I swear it never rains until I’m cleaning and redoing the front porch) and this week has been an interesting lesson in priorities and grace.

We did manage to get all the important things accomplished so we’ll take it as a win!

Scenes from our week…

We had big plans to have the house, porch, shutters and front door repainted, but it totally got away from us. I power washed the porch this week and thankfully, I think it bought us another few months!

Speaking of the porch, I added some fresh rugs and it made a huge difference!

After angst-ing over whether or not I should paint the wicker furniture on the front porch black, I’ve officially changed back to white. What can I say, I gave it a good year you guys ?

We’ve been on the hunt for white, blue, green and peach pumpkins but have totally come up empty handed. It seems like they were everywhere last year but this year it feels like they’re a unicorn. We did pick up these sweet gourds though.

Reading this week…

A new contract – you guys there are SO many more things that are involved in blogging than just snapping pretty pictures and providing tutorials and content we hope you to enjoy. The back end of blogging takes hours upon hours to complete each week and is so involved it’s enough to make my curly hair turn straight any day he he.

Watching this week…

We still can’t believe famed chef, Anthony Bourdain is gone! It’s definitely been bittersweet to watch the final episodes of Parts Unknown. If you’re new to the series you can catch up here and watch new episodes here.

I hope you all have a peace filled and happy weekend. We have a great week coming up next week.

I’ll to be spending the weekend closing out September and getting refocused for everything we have on our plates in October. I was originally set to be out of town and while the event would have been a lot of fun, I’m thankful for the extra time we’ll have at home now. We have plans to watch an outdoor movie and grill out so that should be fun. I’m also hoping we can steal away for a quick walk on the beach with pumpkin scones and a pumpkin spice latte. If everything works out it should be the perfect balance of work and play.

Whatever you have planned I hope it’s something you’re excited about too. I can’t wait to see you back here on Monday. Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.

Many blessings,

CoCo

    1. Thanks so much Sarah! I’m excited to use the gourds too. I was going to save them for a Thanksgiving post but they’re almost too cute to save. Hugs and happy weekend, CoCo

  3. It is so hard to think of fall here in Florida, I like your idea of a walk on the beach with pumpkin scones and a pumpkin spice latte. That is doable even when it is warm. 🙂
