From the Front Porch

Happy Sunday from the front porch, you guys. Thanks so much for spending time with us today!

As you can imagine, we’re watching Hurricane Dorian very closely. Given the storm has been crawling at a snail’s pace, we’ve basically been in prep mode since last Thursday.

While we know you can’t predict these kinds of storms completely, we’re thankful for the technology that keeps us updated and the extra time to prepare.  It’s a lot of work!

We went through Hurricane Irma two years ago and for a while it felt eerily the same.  Especially, at the gas pump and the grocery store.

I’m always curious as to what kinds of provisions people grab during major storms. Bananas

and bread both seemed to be hot ticket items.

We’re not expected to get a direct hit from Hurricane Dorian, but we are bracing for lots of wind, rain and flooding.

Our thoughts and prayers definitely go out to everyone in the path of the storm, particularly those of you beginning your preparations in Georgia and the Carolinas.  We’ll be keeping you close and lifting you up.

 TCG: Behind the Scenes

A few weeks ago, my Mom and I went to an event at Ballard Designs.

Everyone was so nice, and we had so much fun.

This event in particular was all about preparing guest rooms and layering bed linens to create a cozy feel. It was actually perfect timing because we’re in the midst of giving 3 of the bedrooms at Bliss Barracks a makeover.

While the ladies of Ballard Designs had pulled together a spread covering everything from champagne to cheesecake to chocolate covered strawberries, I had to snag a quick picture of the chocolate cake.  It was AMAZING!

They also gave us monogrammed market totes with goodies in it.

We loved this fun way to frame and display your wifi guest password too.
