From the Front Porch

Happy Thursday from the front porch you guys! How was your week? We hope it finds you steadily accomplishing all the goals you’ve set out for yourself in the month of May as we enter the halfway point.

Every time I go outside, it feels like the summer slowdown is just around the corner and we couldn’t be more excited about it.

We had a super relaxing weekend which was exactly what we needed after working so many weekends in a row without a break. Looking back, I can see how it set us up for success.  The older I get the more I’m beginning to appreciate how important it is to listen to what your body, heart and soul needs before saying yes to all the things.

Since my Mom is in Isreal we’re all on “Dad Duty” taking turns each day to make sure he’s staying healthy and going to cardiac rehab.  As most of you know, he had a heart attack a little over a month ago and so far, he’s adjusting to the changes pretty well.

He drove up on Monday to meet me for dinner and it’s been funny to hear about his adventures at my sister’s houses too.  I secretly think he appreciates all the extra attention even though he reminds us nearly every day, he’s “grown.” ?

We’ve been slowly working in the yard to make sure everything has been weeded and planted before the summer heat sets in in just a few short weeks.  I’m hoping we’ll be able to get a few summer plants for the front porch later this week.

I started working on the home office makeover this week.  The space was once a bedroom that we’re turning into an office after we switched rooms for the One Room Challenge. I’m still stuck on how to set the room up and whether or not I want to install a wall treatment because the delay would hold up the makeovers for the bathroom, both of the closets and the living room too.

Since I feel unsettled about the decision, I’m moving on and working on the desk I picked up for $17.

52 Weeks to a Simplified & Organized Home Challenge

If you’re part of our 52 Weeks to a Simplified and Organized Home Challenge,  we’re completing Week 20, Home Office or Guest Room and looking forwardto Week 21, Home Office or Guest Room Closet and Drawers.

*** Keep in mind, if you’re new to this challenge or have gotten behind for whatever reason, simply pick up on the current week and start again.  You don’t have to be perfect, just don’t stay stuck! This challenge is all about making progress no matter how big or small. ***

I hope you all have a peace filled and happy weekend. My plan is to at least get the office cleaned out and painted so we can start moving in some of the bigger pieces of furniture next week.  I’m secretly hoping it will help me decide if I want to install the board and batten or not.  Most of our weekends in June will be filled with travel so I want to get a jump start on things if at all possible.

Whatever you have planned I hope it’s something you’re excited about too.  I can’t wait to see you back here next week. Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.

Many blessings,

CoCo
