The Easiest Framed USA Flag Art
We’re sharing the easiest framed USA flag art today!
Recently, I was searching online for wall art when I somehow went down the rabbit hole and found myself looking for patriotic art inspiration.
Despite growing up in a military family, I’ve never tried to create flag art of my own.

Given that this year is an important one in our nation’s history, I thought it would be fun to commemorate the occasion.
So, I set about using simple materials to craft the easiest USA flag art.
This project is great because it doesn’t take a lot of time.
Plus, you can use any flag you like from your favorite places to travel to pendant style flags to mark special milestones.
Here’s a look at how to create the easiest framed USA flag art.
Framed USA Flag Art
Supplies:
- Picture Frame with a Mat
- Spray paint, optional
- Heavy Cardstock or Scrapbook Paper (we chose navy blue)
- Flag (we chose a small USA flag)
- Fabric Glue or Tape
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Sandpaper, optional
- Dark Furniture Paste Wax, optional
Steps:
Gather your supplies and make sure your work surface is clean.
I started with a black frame I already had on hand.

Using caution, care, and proper safety precautions as recommended by the paint manufacturer, spray paint your picture frame using the color of your choice in a well-ventilated area.
I used Champagne by Color Shot.
Allow your frame to dry completely.

Again, using caution and care, cut a piece of heavy cardstock to fit under your picture frame mat.
We found this pretty shade of navy blue at Michaels.

Next, remove your flag from the flagpole.
Then secure your flag to the cardstock using glue or tape.
Allow the glue to dry completely.

Once your flag is dry, use caution and care to put your picture frame back together again.
For the sake of these pictures, I’m going to leave the glass piece out so there won’t be a glare.

All in all, I’m excited about the way this came together.
It’s such a simple project, but there’s something really special about framing a flag.
It becomes more than décor — it’s a small way to honor the places, people, and moments that matter most.

So, I hope this inspires you to create a piece that feels meaningful to you, whether it’s a USA flag or one tied to a favorite memory.
Let us know how you’re adding a patriotic touch to your home or marking a milestone year!
