Traditional Christmas Dining Room at Bliss Barracks

As soon as you walk through the front door of Bliss Barracks, you can see the dining room. For this reason, my mom almost always keeps table set. We’ve shared countless meals, lots of laughter and even a few tears at this table. We’ve gone from needing 5 place settings to 12 in just a few short years. Gathering around the table is one of our favorite activities no matter if we’re at Loblolly Manor or Bliss Barracks. Here’s a peek at how we’ve decorated the traditional dining room for Christmas at Bliss Barracks…

You guys, if this table could talk it would surely tell you some secrets. I love the houndstooth fabric on the chairs. It’s such a classic look.

Urns like these can be easily dressed up or down depending on the season. My mom used a mix of greenery, sticks and ornaments to put this together. Floral foam will help keep your centerpiece flowers or stems together.

Given the china cabinet, dining room table, chairs and chandelier are on the formal side, my mom chose a simple place setting. Don’t you love these white bird tureens?

Even when you’re using all the same color dishes, layering different textures and adding a neutral charger will help keep things simple but elegant.

Adding a few sprigs of greenery and a colorful napkin can help add a festive touch to your flatware.

In the far corner of this picture you can see how the dining room opens up to the kitchen. You can see the butler’s pantry from this angle too.

Keeping the color palette simple in the dining room, we decided to add just a bit of glitz with the silver deer.

It’s so exciting in less than a month, we’ll be having Christmas Eve dinner at this very table. I better get shopping for something to wear!

See you guys back here tomorrow. I’ve shared a lot of different spaces this week so I’ll put them all together in a home tour. Until then, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.

Many blessings,

CoCo
