In Search of a Rug
There is only one thing I find more frustrating than shopping for jeans or a bathing suit and that’s shopping for a rug. Most of the rugs in this house have been moved around more times than I can count.
A Few Smalls and an ASCP French Linen Dresser Makeover
The Thursday before last, I spent the day shopping at an estate sale with my mom. We found a few smalls and two pieces of furniture. I painted this dresser and mirror a makeover in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint French Linen. The smalls I found are amazing. This sale was one of the best they’ve ever had but the competition was fierce.

My Booth at The Pickers Market
This week has been the culmination of weeks worth of work. It’s been nonstop painting, cleaning, hauling, tagging and searching for inventory in some of the most cobwebbed infested places you’ve ever seen. It’s been carrot dogs for dinner and loads of laundry that are still waiting for me. Having a booth space is so much work and so much fun all at the same time.
A Display Unit for the Booth
When January found me selling me out of almost every piece of painted furniture I had in the booth I knew I needed to make some changes about the way I kept the booth stocked. Since I don’t have a huge truck or trailer to go to auctions or estate sales and load up on multiple pieces of furniture at once, I asked S to build me a display unit that I could leave in my booth on a permanent basis.
A Few Treasures and a China Hutch
After meeting a friend for lunch last Friday I had time to run into 3 stores to search for new inventory. You guys know I need several pieces of furniture but after only finding a handful of smalls lately I was getting a bit discouraged. I left empty handed in the first store. In the second I found 2 vintage suitcases and a few interesting treasures but still no furniture. Time was running out and I headed for the last store. The sale of the day was on furniture. The china hutch I found had been there for a while and with the sale it was within $5 of my budget.
A Few Finds and a Duck Egg Nightstand Makeover
I’ve spent the past few weeks shopping for new inventory items for my booth at The Pickers Market. Restocking a booth is like finding items for your home. It takes a while to capture just the right look you’re after. I found this three-drawer nightstand a few weeks ago. I painted it with two coats of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Duck Egg. A lot of my customers have beach cottages or live in condos. I can imagine this nightstand tucked between two iron beds covered with sun-drenched quilts.
