From the Front Porch
Happy Friday, from the front porch! I hope your week has been a blessed one. Call me crazy but I feel like we just might be getting into the swing of things.
Do you feel that way yet?
This week has been a good one. The beginning of the week is always somewhat blissful. But by Wednesday afternoon I’m like what.in.the.world. and sort of feel myself kind of scrambling.
Most of the week was spent on the master bedroom makeover again. I still haven’t had to chance to go through all the packages yet.
Truthfully, we have small projects going on in multiple rooms and I’m beyond ready to get the house back in order.
I’ve been painting the huge 10 drawer dresser and mirror which has turned into a multi-day process. It was definitely to be expected though because they were both black.
Thankfully, it worked out well to have a painting project so close to Filbie’s quarters since he’s still not feeling 100%. We’re at this weird point of sporadic eating, lots of sleeping, getting sick, sleeping some more…
The vet says he’s healing well for his age but still…
It’s so hard to have those “let’s make him as comfortable as possible for as long as possible” conversations even if we’re hoping the reality of that situation is a long way off.
On a side note, the vet told us one of the meds we have to use for Filbie’s visits is in such short supply due to COVID-19, he’ll be out by July. I just wanted to share in case your vet might be in the same situation because it really helped us understand our options better.
As always, we really appreciate all your sweet comments, encouragement, and prayers. They make such a difference.
A Few of Our Favorite Posts from Around the Web this Week…
I can’t remember if I’ve shared this gorgeous portfolio yet or not, but the images are worth appreciating and studying again. As always, Emily does a really good job of breaking the style points down in this post.
There are lots of pretty spaces in this portfolio too.
This Instagram account is so beautiful I could just crawl right in those tiny little squares.
And since we’re already on the farmhouse vibe, don’t miss this tour.
Currently obsessed with this wallpaper.
Super excited to try this simple but fabulous diy and this pretty one too.
This idea would be super cute for Memorial Day.

We’re currently reading, The Lifegiving Home: Creating a Place of Belonging and Becoming by Sally and Sarah Clarkson and I’ve been soaking it up like a sponge.
It reads like part von Trapp family and part Walton’s family mountain.
There’s a whole lotta Jesus in this book, some things I’ve had to look up and even things I disagree with.
That said, a good portion of the book is applicable with things you can literally start in your home today.
I read the first 100 pages the day the book arrived while nibbling on scones and drinking of hot tea. Then texted my baby sister with the link so she could read it too.

I’m so sorry to hear your Filbie has been ill. It’s so difficult when our fur babies get sick. He will be in my thoughts and prayers and our Mr. Bentley says “Feel better!” I LOVE the detail on the piece you are painting and can’t wait to see how the room turns out! Looking forward to clicking through this week’s picks and recipes! Thank you for sharing all the wonderful inspiration! Have a blessed weekend!
You always leave such kind comments, Christine, thank you! Our big hairy beast Filbie is definitely a sweetie pie and you are right, it is hard when they’re not feeling well. It’s hard to know how to make them comfortable but we’re working our way through it. I hope you like the links this week. It’s always fun to find fresh inspiration. Hope your weekend was blessed one and you have a happy week as well, CoCo
Loving all of the beautiful links you shared, CoCo! That flower pot! Hope you have a lovely weekend!
Thank you, Linda! These posts take the longest but they’re always so much fun to put together. I can’t get over that flower pot either. It’s so cool! Hugs for a happy week, CoCo
I hear you Coco, things are a bit rough at my end as well with sporadic eating and unscheduled sleeping. Hope Filibie feels better soon as my heart aches to see how pets and children are getting affected through this lockdown. Hope you continue to get back feeling fresh on Monday. Have a good weekend Coco. Hugs!
I really appreciate your sweet words, thank you so much! This time has definitely felt like a roller coaster ride (especially with Filbie being sick) but I’m thankful we’re all safe and able to help each other. I know you’re doing everything possible to hold things down at your house too 🙂 It’s been quite an adventure! Hope your weekend was a fun one and your week is full of all good things, CoCo
I love that painted mirror!
Thanks so much, Josiah! Hope your week is a great one, CoCo
I love seeing all the red, white, and blue. It’s such a great reminder that summer is getting closer and hopefully it’ll feel like a fresh start. I’m praying better things are to come during the new season! Poor Filbie I just want to hug his neck!
Me too, Michelle! I always think Spring is a time to refresh but I’m hoping Summer is a full-blown do-over this year 🙂 We definitely need it. Thanks so much for your sweet prayers for Filbie. Bless his heart, he fell out of his dog bed a few days ago but he’s hanging in there so far. Hope your week is a happy one, CoCo
