From the Front Porch
Happy Thursday from the front porch, you guys. How has your week been? I hope it’s been totally fabulous and you’ve felt loved and supported all week long.
Spring is such a great time for fresh hope and renewal isn’t it? I seriously get excited just thinking about how we’re all growing and changing in ways we can’t even imagine. I know it’s not always easy but somehow, it’s always worth it – even the hard stuff.
We took an extra-long weekend last weekend and took part of this week off as well to solidify our goals for March and to prioritize rest. It felt like THE biggest gift. Even though it was a little cold (I wore shorts and a sweater) we read our favorite books on the beach, made fun meals at home, napped when we wanted to nap, watched movies, made gourmet popcorn, grabbed a latte and a stroll through the bookstore, enjoyed a bit of treasure hunting and brought home a few plants.
I spent the rest of the week focused on race day which is Saturday! I cannot believe it’s here, you guys – 9.3 miles over multiple bridges – it is so intense. We’ve been training for months so we’re as ready as we can be I guess. I’m definitely getting excited and nervous! My only goal is to finish strong, I don’t really care how long it takes, I just want to finish.
Please keep my family in your prayers this weekend as we will begin marking the one-year anniversary of my grandparents homegoing. We’ve definitely experienced a mix of emotions this week and I know they will continue into next week as well. My sisters and I have some things planned for my mom to make sure we give her extra love and support during this time.
I never thought it was possible to hold grief and grace in your heart at the same time and yet, I’m learning they are an essential part of the healing journey.

I hope you all have a peace filled and happy weekend. If you’re in a state or country that observes Daylight Savings Time remember to “Spring Ahead” and set your clocks forward one hour. Daylight Savings Time begins on Sunday, March 11th. This is also a great time to change out the batteries in your smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector!
We have a great week coming up next week as we continue to enjoy all things Spring and gardening around the house and on the front porch. I’m hoping to share scenes from race day with you and scenes from a treasuring hunting trip I have planned early next week with my mom before we head out of town for a few days to take care of multiple projects. We’ll also be celebrating my grandparents next week with a big family breakfast and lots of hugs, snuggles, laughs and I’m sure a few tears. It is definitely going to be a full week.
Whatever you have planned I hope it’s something you’re excited about too. I can’t wait to see you back here on Monday. Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.
Many blessings,
CoCo
Looks like another fun week CoCo. Good luck on Saturday with the race. I hope it’s a good experience for you and your mom despite it being bittersweet. I’ll be keeping your family in my prayers.

Dearest CoCo – We have already been holding your family high as we knew this was an anniversary week for you. Time marches on but it doesn’t weaken the heart or love that you feel. We are wrapping you in love and hugs.
Also, we KNOW that you will finish this race like a champ. You have worked so hard and trained so well. You are ready and will cross the finish line like a true winner. We are so proud of you and can’t wait to hear all about it! Go get’em CoCo! You’ve got this!
You guys are THE best! I have no idea what I would do without all of your constant love and support. You lift me up daily and I appreciate you both so much. Lots of love, CoCo
Thinking of you this weekend and praying for your family to continue to heal during this time,
We appreciate your prayers and well wishes, Ashley, thank you so much! Hugs, CoCo
I’m really excited about the race. I can’t even run to the mailbox so to see you reach your goal is fun. I will also be praying for you. Grief and loss are not easy but you have handled it with so much grace.
Believe me Sarah when I first started training I couldn’t run to my mailbox either. It’s all about putting one foot in front of the other. Thanks so much for your continued prayers. Your emails mean so much to me. Hugs, CoCo
