From the Front Porch

Happy Thursday from the front porch you guys. How was your week? Hopefully, it was a good one given it was a short week. We had a great Labor Day weekend but gosh, it felt like we were scrambling all week.

After two days of major craft fails, and one day completely derailed by our sweet but needy pups, I finally just had to let it all go. I cleaned the house, brought down a few boxes of fall decorations from the attic, gave a piece of furniture a bit of a refresh and made an apple cinnamon spice simmer pot. This might sound totally weird but having a clean and tidy house makes everything immediately feel better.

My Mom and I met yesterday to shop for a couple of upcoming projects and while we didn’t find everything on our list, we had a great time just being together.

Scenes from our week…

I feel like I should just give the ladies that run the plant department at Lowes my cell phone number because I’ve been obsessed about finding the right mums for our front porch ha ha. The first truck finally arrived, and I am so excited. The pink and burgundy mums seem to be really hot this year!

While I was out shopping with my Mom I said, “Mom, don’t let me get off track ok?” I need Fall stuff more than I need ironstone so help me stick with the list.” 30 minutes later we walked out of the store with a gray and white ironstone platter I’ve only seen in magazines and a piece of brown and white transferware ?

After having two major craft fails this week, I’m all about finding a quick and easy solution to the pillow situation for the bench in the entry. I think this might be the answer. Fingers crossed this idea works!

Speaking of the entry, we finally got the light installed which is so exciting! There’s just one little hiccup…we’re missing a strand of crystals…yep, that happened this week too only 39 out of 40 arrived. I’m hoping a replacement strand will be here soon.

Reading this week…

Country Home magazine has always been one of my favorite publications and this issue has all sorts of Fall inspiration.

Listening to this week…

I can’t even tell you how many days and nights I’ve listened to and watched So Will I (100 Billion X) by Hillsong United. It’s one of my all-time favorite songs – in the history of ever. Every time I’m outside with one of the dogs in the wee hours of the morning totally exhausted I look up at the stars and remember this poetic line, “…every burning star a signal fire of grace.” I know! It gets me every time too!

Watching this week…

Chef’s Table Pastry on Netflix. The episode on Milk Bar was a fun one!

I hope you all have a peace filled and happy weekend. We have a great week coming up next week. I’m hoping to finish up a few projects by Saturday afternoon, so I can sneak off to the cutest little town to pick up some Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint. I have a dresser I want to redo, and she has a new product coming out I want to try on a console table. It won’t be a huge deal if we can’t make it happen but after this week, it would feel like a big win if we can.

Whatever you have planned I hope it’s something you’re excited about too. I can’t wait to see you back here on Monday. Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.

Many blessings,

CoCo
