Goodbye October, Hello November

I don’t mean to blow your mind but I’m gonna…55 days til Christmas. You read that right, 55 days. This month was definitely a fun month filled with so many projects to make our home filled warm and cozy. I feel like we’re off to a great start for the entire holiday season. I’m totally a nester so this time of year is my jam…Here’s what we’ve been working on this month as we say Goodbye October, Hello November.

I spent most of the month decorating the house for fall adding special touches around the house. I’ve been changing out all of the apples for pumpkins. I’ll share more Thanksgiving inspired posts with you next week. It’s not a total overhaul, just a few changes I’m excited about. I loved the apples though. It’s pretty neutral around here most of the year so it was nice add a bit of seasonal color.

My bestie S made me this bench for the front porch from a headboard and footboard I found at a local thrift store. We’re working on another one right now that I’m hoping to show you next month too. This one is on the front porch. The one we’re working on will go on the back porch now that it’s been given a refresh.

Even though I didn’t have a chance to paint anything for the booth this month, it was still a busy month shopping for inventory items, cleaning the items that I did purchase and then hauling it all to the booth. My car could be on autopilot headed to that place.

It wasn’t all work this month though. As soon as it hits Labor Day, my stand mixer goes into overdrive. I love, love, love to bake. I gotta tell ya, sharing recipes feels like sharing a little bit of love and it’s one of my favorite things to do. I give myself total freedom to bake whatever I want from Labor Day to New Year’s Day. The beet brownies were the crowd pleaser from the month. I got the funniest emails about them. Most of them started off with, “Did you really use beets in these brownies because I can’t even taste it in there?” Yes, I really did puree those beets.

Speaking of crowd pleasers, this Glow in the Dark Halloween Candy Bucket was a big hit with my nephew. His pockets were filled with the extra glow in the dark bugs I had left over from the project when I hugged him by last weekend.

While we’re on Halloween, it was tons of fun to host a special edition of Thrift Score Thursday with some of my blogging friends. It’s always cool to see what people find while they’re out shopping. I found these scary looking toys while out with my mom earlier this month. Hello, creepy!

Finally, I’ll be honest this warms my heart because it’s something I feel so passionately about – you guys were really receptive to my post 10 Tips to Create a More Organized Life and it makes me so excited.

Goodbye October, it’s been fun. November, if you’re listening I can’t wait to see what you have in store for me.
