Halloween Inspired Treat Containers
We’re sharing how to create Halloween Inspired Treat Containers today!
As many of you know I live in Florida where Fall and hurricane season run parallel.
Consequently, we either have to create our own kind of Fall or do without one completely because we’re usually prepping for a hurricane or cleaning up from one.

However, a few weeks ago, I was at Loblolly cleaning up from Hurricane Helene and realized one of the beautiful things about being a kid is that they mostly remain hopeful and blissfully unaware of just how much the season impacts everyone around them.
You see, my two youngest nephews are obsessed with Spooky Season.
And as we were hauling debris to the road and cleaning up the inside of the house, my youngest nephew was asking about my costume for our family’s annual Spooky Soiree.
It’s like he didn’t even notice the brokenness around him.
Rather the magic of a season he’s waited all year to celebrate.
So, on the way home, I started thinking about quick and easy project ideas to help save the season and to give us something to look forward to.

Here’s a look at how to create Halloween Inspired Treat Containers…

- Metal Coffee Cans (we used our empty Café Du Monde coffee containers)
- Black Spray Paint
- Orange Spray Paint
- Halloween Face Stickers
Halloween Inspired Treat Container Steps
Firstly, gather your supplies and make sure your empty coffee containers are clean and free from coffee grounds.
We drink a lot of Café Du Monde Coffee so I’ve been saving our empty cans.

Secondly, spray paint your cans outside in a well-ventilated area and make sure to read all the instructions (including the safety instructions) on the back of your can of spray paint.
I painted the coffee containers in Krylon’s Pumpkin Orange and the lids in Rustoleum’s Black.

It took several coats of orange paint to cover up the graphics on the front of the coffee can.
Looking back, I wish I would have used an additional coat of primer.

Allow your coffee containers to dry completely.
Then attach the face stickers and enjoy!

Festive Ways to Use These Containers…
Surprisingly, these Halloween inspired treat containers can be used in multiple ways.
You can use them as part of your porch display, add flowers to the containers for a festive tablescape or place treats in them for loved ones.

I’m going to place numbers on the bottom of each can and create a Countdown to Halloween calendar for my nephews.

In addition, you can use them in a fun bowling game as well.
As with the Spooky Season Jute Brooms we recently created, they don’t take long to make save for the drying time.

I know it can be hard to pivot.
Especially when your season hasn’t quite turned out the way you expected it too.
So, remember to keep things simple.
After all, festive memories can be made anywhere.
