There’s nothing better than cozying up with a warm cup of milk just before bed so today, I want to share with you a recipe for one of my favorite nighttime drinks, pumpkin spice golden milk latte with tumeric.
Don’t turn your nose up at the word turmeric, now, it’s good for you.
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always loved ending the night with some sort of warm drink. I’ll totally blame this on one of my aunts who served us the best mocha out of THE tiniest tea cups every time we spent the night with her. Even as we got older and moved away whenever she invited us over for dinner the first words out of her mouth were usually, “I’m so glad you’re here!” followed by, “I got the coffee ready for you girls.” Just thinking about it brings back the sweetest memories.
Well, this aunt recently came to see my parents at Bliss Barracks and we all had the best visit. One night after dessert we were sitting around talking about how we needed to find a nighttime replacement drink for our usual coffee and mocha.
I immediately thought of this golden milk latte recipe I’ve been drinking on and off all year, especially during the times I have trouble sleeping. As soon as I told my family it had turmeric in it they were definitely hesitant ha ha. I totally get it but the honey in this recipe does help to cut the “earthy taste” of turmeric a bit. Besides, this pumpkin spice version tastes like fall in a cup so give it a chance, ok?
Here’s the recipe so you can try this cozy fall drink on your own…
Recipe:
- ½ teaspoon ground turmeric
- 2 tsp pumpkin puree
- 1 cup almond milk
- ¼ cup canned coconut milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon of ginger powder
- ½ tsp pumpkin pie spice or ½ tsp cinnamon powder if you prefer
- Pinch of black pepper (not pictured)
- 1 tablespoon of honey
Steps:
Combine all ingredients, except honey, in a saucepan.
Whisk to combine.
Using caution and care warm ingredients in saucepan, on stove.
*Make sure your blender can be used for hot liquids prior to performing this step.
Carefully transfer hot liquid into a blender, using caution and care as contents will be hot and tightly seal lid. Blend until frothy, about 30 seconds.
Transfer mixture to a generous mug.
Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with cinnamon if you have some on hand.
Serve warm and immediately drink.
I know these days of running around trying to prepare for the holidays can get kind of hectic so taking a break for this pumpkin spice golden milk latte always seems like a relaxing treat. It’s fun way to wind down the day, reassess tomorrows goals and to take a few moments of quiet reflection for all the gifts we’ve been given lately.
I hope you guys all have a safe and happy celebration tonight! If you’re a subscriber, I’ll see you at our secret spot tomorrow. If you’re not yet, we’d love to have you. Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.

I make one very similar to this and I think the only difference is the addition of hemp seeds. So yummy! And healthy. Readers, don’t shy away, give Coco’s recipe a try! Happy Halloween Coco!
Oh my gosh, Anne, I never even thought about putting hemp seeds in this recipe. Thanks so much for your sweet comments and suggestion, I will definitely try it. Hope your day is a happy one, CoCo
