Simple Ways to Celebrate Fall Home Tour

We’re teaming up with some talented and creative ladies for our Simple Ways to Celebrate Fall Home Tour hosted by Terrie of Decorate and More with TIp!

If you’re coming over from Chloe’s blog, Celebrate and Decorate, welcome, we’re happy to have you here.

Chloe is constantly inspiring me with her fantastic ideas and her beautiful tablescapes. I swear I could spend a day going through her craft room and dish pantry!

This Fall we’ve been really intentional about slowing down to savor our favorite things about the season.

I haven’t been shy about saying some years we’re so excited for Fall to arrive we’re up in the attic bringing big bins filled with decorating goodies from pumpkins to leaves to pinecones down from the attic in early August.

Let’s be honest, Florida doesn’t truly have a Fall season, so we have to work twice as hard to create our own.

This year though, we decided to forgo the hustle and bustle which usually accompanies our weekend-long decorating frenzy for a more relaxed approach.

We put more emphasis on creating simple ways to celebrate Fall throughout the house here and there as we had time.

While it drew the overall decorating process out a bit longer than I expected, it was really nice to be able to take our time crafting pumpkins, seasonal vignettes and enjoying all that Fall has to offer.

Here’s a look at simple ways to celebrate Fall home tour…

Celebrate Fall in the Entry:

Decorating the entry for Fall is a simple way to welcome your family, neighbors, and guests into your home.

Keep things festive yet organized…

  • Hang a Fall inspired wreath or wall art.
  • If you have a bench, add textured and seasonal pillows.
  • Use baskets for shoes, the mail or to keep blankets handy for game day.
  • Use hooks for coats, purses, backpacks, and keys.
  • Add a mirror for a last-minute check before heading out the door.
  • Make a command center with your Fall bucket list activities and family calendar.

Simple Ways to Celebrate Fall in the Dining Room:

Gathering around the table to enjoy a meal together is one of my all-time favorite activities. I know the dining room has become a multi-purpose room over the years though.

Here are a few ways to enjoy Fall in the dining room…

Celebrate Fall in the Living Room:

Decorating the mantel for Fall is a really simple way to add a festive and seasonal feel to your living room. I know a lot of people dread decorating it because the process can feel overwhelming, so we broke it up into 5 easy steps.

Other ways to make your living room feel cozy this season…

  • Lighting a cozy fire in your fireplace and adding a few cinnamon scented pinecones.
  • Snuggling up in a thick and luxuriously soft blanket.
  • Watching your favorite movie with a Fall inspired popcorn mix.
  • Waking up an hour early for uninterrupted quiet time and a pumpkin spice latte.
  • Reading a good book or magazine from cover to cover. You can read a list of our favorite books coming out this season here.
  • Create pillow forts, turn off all the lights and read or tell spooky stories by flashlight or glow stick.
  • Host a family game or karaoke night.

Simple Ways to Celebrate Fall in the Breakfast Nook:

Hands down, our breakfast nook is one of the hardest-working spaces in our home.  We use it multiple times a day, so we like to keep the décor festive yet functional.

Consider these ideas to help make Fall memories in the breakfast nook easy peasy…

  • Make pumpkin pancakes.
  • Roll out the kraft paper and carve pumpkins.
  • Keep your centerpeice super simple.
  • Eat a meal off seasonal or vintage dishes.
  • Create a beautiful Fall tablescape.
  • Craft an epic coffee or apple cider bar.
  • Host a Fall or Halloween inspired party with little nibbles and a dessert station.

Celebrate Fall in the Kitchen:

There is nothing like lifting the lid on a bubbly pot of soup to take in the scents of the season, easing freshly baked bread from the oven, or lighting a Fall candle.

The kitchen is the heart of the home for good reason.

Here are a few ways to nourish your loved ones in the kitchen this season…

  • Make a complete meal using only seasonal ingredients.
  • Bake a pie or fresh loaf of bread to share.
  • Craft caramel apples.
  • Make a Fall inspired sugar scrub.
  • Try a new soup recipe.
  • Toast pumpkin seeds.
  • Play music while you’re cooking.
  • Buy fresh kitchen towels.
  • Light a Fall inspired candle.
  • Create a Fall simmer pot.
  • Clean the kitchen with a Fall inspired scent from Mrs. Meyers.

While this might seem like a long list of simple ways to celebrate Fall and create a cozy seasonal home, we know firsthand how quickly the days pass.

Especially, in the last 100 days of the year!

Our goal is to always encourage you to do what works best for your personal style and the way you actually live.

You don’t have to go all out with seasonal decorating unless you want to!

Placing quick and easy vignettes around the most commonly used areas of your home will feel festive without all the extra fuss.

We hope these easy ideas show you don’t have to have a lot of money or big bins of Fall décor to make your season festive and memorable.

  1. CoCo you had me at the first picture! That dog! So cute… I love everything about your beautiful home. It makes me want to redecorate right now. That table centerpiece was simple and beautiful at the same time. I am going to be stalking your kitchen for ideas as we have a similar style of kitchen.

    1. So kind of you to say, Tammy, thank you so much! We opened our hearts and home to our sweet rescue Piper in March – she is so cute but she is also a little wild thing that keeps us on our toes 😂 When she snuggled up in the chair she looked so comfy I didn’t have the heart to move her so she just became part of the blog hop. Heading over to see your beautiful home now. It’s always fun to see what you guys are up to! Hugs, CoCo

  2. Coco, I love it all. The softness is perfect.

Piper stole my heart. She looks so small and comfy in the chair.

I decorated a lot but went more natural for fall. I’m happy it was pretty quick.

Love the centerpiece. Your mums do well. Here in NJ not so much.

I buy flowering kale. Works best here and I love it.

    Pinned!

    1. I appreciate your sweet words, Cindy, thank you so much! We have looked all over for flowering kale but the nursery says they won’t arrive until winter. I always think they are so beautiful though and can’t wait for them to arrive. Heading over to check out your festive home tour too. I love everything you’ve done so far! Hugs, CoCo

  3. Thank you for this post.

I love how mindful your ideas are–they are inspiring and yet restful at the same time (which is just what we need in 2021)!

    1. You are so kind, Corrie, thank you so much. I really appreciate it! I know we all have a lot of demands on our time, especially, these days so I’m always trying to think of ways we can make our homes feel festive without the fuss while creating memories that feel impactful. 4. You always offer so many amazing and helpful tips, CoCo!! And your home !! Omg! So many lovelies! You have such a talent for creating beautiful centerpieces!! PS Piper is such a sweet pup!! I totally get just letting him be! I cherish each and every photo I get of Bentley!

    1. You are so sweet to say that, Christine, thank you so much. I really appreciate it. Some seasons I’m all kinds of excited to bring down the bins and other times it’s about quiet celebrations here and there. Our sweet Piper has definitely been a handful at times but she continues to settle in a little more each day. It’s such a blessing to be a part of her wild and mischievous life. Sending you hugs and sweet ear scratches to Bentley, CoCo

  5. Your home looks so very cozy for Fall!!! l love how you use every room to decorate:) Thanks for sharing all of your creativity and happy Fall!!!!!

    1. Thanks so much, Maria, I really appreciate it. While it took me a lot longer to decorate than I thought it would taking the time to sprinkle a bit of Fall here and there all over the house was so much fun. Hope your Fall season is all that you need it to be, CoCo

  6. Oh Coco, how sweet is that little puppy! Piper must be a puppy, I can just tell! Now, I just love the soft look you have used to bring fall into your home. Being in Florida, also, I think I work way too hard to try and pull all of that traditional fall stuff into my home. Faux fall leaves, oranges and reds and greens. Perhaps next year I will take an instruction from you and go a little softer, gentler. The soft pinks, the whites, it all says fall, but nicer! I always feel like if I decorate like it is fall, the temperatures will get cooler outside…it doesn’t work, does it? Happy Fall!

    1. I can SO relate to pulling out all the bins to make it feel like Fall, Chloe! I was walking Piper (she’s 2) earlier today and could not believe it was still hot and sticky in Florida. I can’t wait for the temps to dip too. It’s nice we have Spring early though so I guess that is the trade-off. Fingers crossed we’ll be finished with hurricane season soon and we can relax into the season. Hope your Fall is all that you need it to be! Hugs, CoCo

  7. Such a pretty fall tour of your home CoCo and I especially love seeing more views of your kitchen. Thank you for linking up this week and be sure to look for your featured post at our Tuesday Turn About Link Party!

    1. You are so sweet, Michelle, thank you so much for the feature! It’s always fun to try and find fresh ways to decorate the kitchen. We don’t usually have a lot of stuff out on the counters and there is very limited wall space to hang anything so it definitely feels like a dance no matter what the season. Sending you hugs and thank yous, CoCo

  8. Loving the wood slice riser with the three little pumpkins! Hubby just brought one in from his workshop last night – now all I need are the little pumpkins! You have a talent CoCo! Pinning! Happy Fall 😊

    1. Thank you so much, Cindy! It’s probably one of the easiest vignettes we’ve ever done. Plus, you can use wood slices and pumpkins like that as a centerpiece on the table, in the kitchen, or even when you’re hosting an outdoor dinner and need to dress up your buffet. Hope your week has been a fun one, CoCo

  9. CoCo, I love everything about your Fall home tour! Thanks so much for sharing it with us at Farmhouse Friday – we’re featuring you at tomorrow’s party!

    1. You guys are so sweet, Michelle, thank you! I can’t even tell you how many times I struggled with that post not feeling good enough so I really appreciate your kind words and sweet support. Big hugs and thank yous, CoCo

  10. Everything is so beautiful! Thanks for sharing Piper with us too – so adorable!!!
