Simple Breakfast Grazing Board
We’re sharing how to create a simple breakfast grazing board today!
If your family is anything like ours, holiday morning celebrations are always so much fun.
But they can also be a bit chaotic trying to balance getting dressed and out the door on time with traditions like an Easter Bunny visit and making sure everyone has had something to eat before brunch.
Several years ago, my Mom started making simple breakfast grazing boards with a variety of little nibbles to help bridge the gap and hold us over between events.
They’re not anything big for fancy at all.
In fact, everything on the grazing board can be found at your local grocery store or bakery to help make things quick and easy.
We’ll be celebrating Easter at Bliss Barracks this weekend, so I thought I would put together a super simple breakfast grazing board to show you just how easy it is.
While I picked things our family likes most, you can definitely customize this idea to accommodate those items your family enjoys from pancakes to specialty breakfast meats and everything in between.
Here’s a look at how to create a simple breakfast grazing board for any holiday event, special occasion, or cozy weekend at home…
Simple Breakfast Grazing Board Supplies:
- Large Board
- Small Bowls and other Containers
- Variety of Yogurt, Granola
- Fruit
- Mini Bagels
- Cream Cheese Spreads
- Mini Muffins
- Variety of Bakery Items
- Variety of Breakfast Meats
- Butter Knives, Spoons
- Eggs
- Plates and Napkins
Simple Breakfast Grazing Board Steps:
Gather your supplies and make sure your simple breakfast grazing board is clean and free from dirt and debris.
It’s completely up to you how you want to arrange the items on your board. You can make things quick and easy, or you can take a little extra time and get really fancy.
Since holiday mornings can be really busy, our simple breakfast grazing board is always straightforward and uncomplicated.
We usually place sweet and savory items on two corners. So, for this board, I placed mini bagels on one end…
and mini muffins on the other.
Next, we add a variety of yogurts and
cream cheese spreads. Full disclosure, my Mom would have put these cream cheese spreads in a small ironstone or crystal bowl.
But I know so many of you are trying to wrangle kids and grandkids on holiday weekends, so I left these cream cheese spreads in their original containers because #reallife is no joke 🤣
Once all the corners of our simple breakfast grazing board are full, I start filling in the middle with a variety of fruits.
Then we add breakfast meats,
a few additional bakery items, and biscuits.
In addition, but not pictured, my Mom always offers healthy options like slices of tomato, avocado, sprouts, arugula, and hard-boiled eggs.
Sometimes she puts them on a separate breakfast grazing board and sometimes she just places the additional ingredients in separate bowls and nestles them around the board.
Honestly, it just depends on how many people you’re serving. The biggest goal of any simple breakfast grazing board should be to make things easily accessible.
Real vs Paper Plates and Napkins…
As far as plates and napkins go, sometimes we use real plates, sometimes melamine plates because of the littles, and sometimes the Easter Bunny has stayed too long so we have to use paper plates and napkins because we’re running out of time.
Whatever you decide to use, let quick and easy be your guide!
As we navigate what promises to be another busy week, I hope this simple breakfast grazing board idea has helped.
Always remember, your breakfast boards don’t have to be elaborate or fancy at all to be impactful. They can be beautiful yet functional without a lot of extra time and effort!

This is such a great idea! I am having people over on Saturday and I’m definitely going to do this. I always learn so much from your blog posts.
Such a sweet compliment, Kim, thank you! For the longest time, I used to look at those beautiful grazing boards on Pinterest and think they looked so out of reach because we don’t have a Fresh Market or a specialty market in our area. Then I realized my Mom had actually been doing a super simple version of those boards with quick and easy ingredients from the grocery store and we loved them. Plus, they were such a time saver when we were running out the door or from one even to another. Hope your celebrations are filled with love and joy this weekend, CoCo
