Simple Flower Covered Wooden Ornaments
We’re sharing how to create simple flower covered wooden ornaments today!
This year, I’ve made a more concerted effort to use the craft supplies I already have on hand before buying additional items.
Most of the time, it works out well because I can simply combine the supplies from two different seasons and make something new.
As I was going through my craft stash over the holiday weekend, I realized I had flowers leftover from the Flower Covered Easter Egg I made this spring and wooden ornaments leftover from the Blush Pink Gift Tags I made for our Champagne Wishes Holiday Home Tour.
And since carving out time to craft ornaments during the holidays is one of my favorite things to do, an easy idea was born.
Here’s a look at how to create flower covered wooden ornaments, in case you’re looking for a quick and easy ornament to keep or gift too…
How to Create Flower Covered Wooden Ornaments
Flower Covered Wooden Ornament Supplies:
- Wooden Ornaments (we found these at Michaels)
- Craft Paint (in the color of your choice)
- Craft Paint Brush
- Flower Embellishments
- Glue
- Antique Gold Paint Pen, optional
- Ribbon, optional
Flower Covered Wooden Ornaments Steps:
Gather your supplies and make sure your workstation has been properly prepped.
Paint your wooden ornament in the color of your choice with craft paint.
Allow it to dry completely.
Then glue flower embellishments to your wooden ornament.
We used hot glue but you also use craft glue.
As always, be sure to read the instructions that come with your glue of choice and take necessary precautions and care.
You can glue your embellishments in a straight line or create a pattern with them.
Once the glue on your flower embellishments is dry, use a gold marker or paint to color in the stamens on your flowers if desired.
Here’s what it looks like without the gold stamens…
Finally, add a ribbon to your flower covered ornament.
You can hang it on the tree, gift it or use it as a tag on a festive present.
You can also cover wood ornaments like these in pearl embellishments, rhinestones, faux fur or glitter.
Truly, whatever your heart desires you can create!

Good morning CoCo- I’m having some coffee before my day takes off. I love the Lily Pulitzer quote in your email this morning. These ornaments are ADORABLE! They remind me of something from Austria. Wishing you the best day!
No playing, the minute I read that quote I laughed out loud thinking about how many times I’ve told you and my sisters that I was “officially quitting pink.” What can I say, there’s just something about it that speaks to me year after year. Thanks so much for your sweet words. I hope you have the best day, CoCo
How adorable! This project seems so simple to make, but it is beautiful!
Oh my goodness, Susan, it’s almost so simple it doesn’t even need a tutorial but I know they’re always helpful. Hope your holiday weekend was a special one, CoCo
Hi CoCo, these are so pretty! Love your signature pink!
I really appreciate it, Cindy, thank you so much! Big hugs, CoCo
Not only are they beautiful, but they are uniquely your own.
This turned out so adorable! I love how you used items you already have on hand and made something completely original! The gold touches are perfection! Can’t wait to see your tree!
These are just adorable CoCo and so you. I can’t wait to share them on DRA.
That’s so sweet of you, Rachel, thank you. I really appreciate it! Hope your holiday season is off to a great start. Hugs, CoCo
I love your pink decorations CoCo, I grew up with a home where pink ruled supreme, it reminds me of home which I find comforting. I am loving your ornament, this has been a no spend Christmas crafting season for me too. I simply cannot bring another thing in this house until I use up some of my other crafting supplies. And since you are using what you already have, I adore this project even more!
