DIY Antique Bronze Wreath
We’re sharing how to create a DIY antique bronze wreath today!
When it comes to seasonal decorating, more times than not, I try to keep it as simple as possible.
Sure, there are times when I want to “go all out.”
But that sentiment usually fades the minute I realize our time and our storage options are both pretty limited this time of year.
Stil, I want things to feel warm and inviting.
So, I wanted to share how to create a simple DIY antique bronze wreath in case you need something quick and easy yet cozy too.

How to Create a DIY Antique Bronze Wreath…
DIY Antique Bronze Wreath Supplies:
- Plastic or Rubber Wreath
- Antique Bronze Spray Paint
- Ribbon, optional
DIY Antique Bronze Wreath Steps:
Gather your supplies and prep your outdoor spray paint area.
We found this 15-inch faux boxwood wreath at Walmart.

The spray paint color I used is called Antique Bronze Spray Paint by Rust-Oleum.
It’s the same color I used to make these quick and easy gift jars and is one of my all-time favorites.
As always, be sure to read the instructions on the back of your spray paint can, take necessary precautions and care, and paint in a well-ventilated area.

Over the years, I’ve found it’s best to paint in multiple light coats rather than trying to cover everything with one coat of paint.
I’ve also learned it’s helpful to rotate the piece you’re painting with each coat.
That way, you can get all the different sides, nooks and crannies.
This is after 1 coat of paint.

And this is after 3 coats.

Keep in mind, you’ll need to allow plenty of drying time between each coat.
It took about 5 thin coats to cover most of the wreath.
And even then, I found little green spots here and there.

Once your DIY antique bronze wreath is dry, you can add a ribbon of your choice.

Easy Decorating…
What I love most about this wreath is that it was wildly easy to make.
I also love that you can use this antique bronze wreath in multiple seasons.
Especially, if you change the ribbons out.
Imagine a moss green or navy ribbon for Fall, a black ribbon for Halloween, a champagne ribbon like we used in our holiday home tour, a burgundy ribbon for a festive Christmas or keep it neutral with a blush pink ribbon.
Truly, the possibilities are endless!
