Quick and Easy Gift Jars

We’re sharing quick and easy gift jar ideas today.

Truth be told, the idea for these jars isn’t anything new.

I’ve seen them all over the internet and social media the past few years.

And rightly so, they’re super cute and incredibly easy to craft.

While I’ve mostly seen them used to hold candy, and small supplies like cotton balls or paper clips, I thought it would be fun to use them as an easy gift jar idea.

That way, you can hide a small gift inside and the recipient can use the jar in another capacity later.

It’s like getting two gifts in one!

Here’s a Look at How to Create Quick and Easy Gift Jars…

Quick and Easy Gift Jar Supplies:

  • Jars with Lids or Metal Tins
  • Small Figurines
  • Glue (we used E6000)
  • Spray Paint (we used the color Antique Brass)
  • Crinkle Paper

Quick and Easy Gift Jar Steps:

Before you get started, make sure your jars, figurines, and worksurface is clean.

We’re obsessed with Bonne Maman jam.

So, my first thought was to simply repurpose an empty jam jar.

But I also wanted to fill these gift jars with presents and treats for family and friends.

I bought this glass jar set and this metal tin at the Dollar General.

If you plan to use these gift jars for perishable items like cookies or candies, you’ll need to make them food safe.

Once your container is ready, glue your figurine to the top of the jar and allow it to dry for at least 24 hours.

We found the fox and deer figurines at Michaels and the horse figurine at the Dollar General.

You can also find small figurines on Amazon though.

Keep in mind, you’ll need to choose a figurine that is to scale with the size of your jar.

These figurines are small because the jars and the metal tin are small.

Spray paint the figurine and the lid in the color of your choice.

This color is called Antique Brass by Rust-Oleum.

I also made one using Gold Leaf by Krylon and it was pretty too.

As always, be sure to read all the instructions on the back of your spray paint can and paint in a well-ventilated area.

I used two coats of spray paint for these quick and easy gift jars and allowed plenty of drying time between each coat.

After the spray paint is dry, fill your jar with crinkle paper.

Next, add a small gift.

What we love about gift jars like these is that they can be easily personalized based on the recipient.

You can add a favorite animal, landmark, monogram, button, crown or even a piece of vintage jewelry.
