From the Front Porch

Happy Friday from the Front Porch! Thanks so much for making us a part of your day!

Earlier this week, my Mom and I quietly slipped back to our hometown to surprise my sweet aunt with a fun porch makeover.

It wasn’t anything big or grand at all.

Just a super simple way to let her know we’re thinking about her as she recovers from surgery and begins cancer treatments.

My aunt’s farm is gorgeous and she works out in the yard all the time!

Our only goal for the porch makeover was to give her a space where she could relax and take in the sunrise from the best spot on the property, hang out with her family and friends, and to bring the outdoors a little closer indoors.

To say she was surprised was a total understatement and we were tickled pink to be able to bring a bit of joy to her day.

She’s definitely been through a lot these past few weeks.

Thanks again for your prayers, sweet words of encouragement and those of you who have given us recommendations from your own cancer journey or from the journey of your family members.

They’ve helped so much already and mean the world!

  4. Beautiful porch, CoCo!! Prayers to your Aunt and family. I, too, know about the ugly word “cancer” – having support around you does help get through the toughest parts.

    1. Thank you so much, Patty, I really appreciate it. We have experience with strokes and heart attacks but this is our first go with cancer and I think we’re all realizing what a fine line you have to walk to be able to navigate it all. I’m always thankful when others share what has helped them most because it definitely helps to make the journey easier. Sending you lots of hugs and thank you so much for your words of encouragement, CoCo

    1. Thank you, Cindy! She loves to work in the yard and has tons of plants and flowers. It’s WAY too hot in Florida for her to be working in the flower beds right now so we’ve been trying to think of very small ways she can have the feel of her gardens a little closer to home. She was definitely excited about it all which of course melted us immediately. Thank you so much for checking in on her progress and continuing to pray. We appreciate it so much! Big hugs, CoCo
