From the Front Porch

Happy Friday, you guys! How’s the week going? Do you have anything fun planned for this weekend? I hope so. I’m officially at Day 9 of a 10-day doctor ordered bed rest and while it’s been tough to manage at times, I’m definitely thankful for the extra days of downtime following a crazy combination of sinus, upper respiratory and pharynx infections.   I’ve been catching up on a lot of Fixer Upper episodes and Netflix this week which means I pretty much want to hang shiplap in every room and paint the entire house white ha ha.

It’s also given me some extra time to plan out several upcoming projects and to decide how to proceed with a few problem spaces around the house. The coffee bar area in the breakfast nook and all the crazy delays regarding the office makeover have been on my radar front and center this week. In addition, I’ve taken a hot minute to start thinking about Easter baskets and to plan a birthday party for my bestie S.

After a month filled with heartache, it’s nice to feel back on track and finally have something fun to look forward to. I know a lot of you have checked in this month to see how things are going and from the bottom of my heart I just want to say thank you again. I wish I could hug all of you in person for the love, support, kindness and encouragement you’ve given to our family after the loss of my grandparents earlier this month. Every day we get stronger and I know it’s because of all of your prayers.

Scenes from my week…

*Our Bridal Bush has finally bloomed!

*This is pretty much how I’ve been feeling for the past 9 days. One minute I’m good to go and 5 minutes later, totally tuckered.

*A bit of inspiration from my favorite decorating books.

* I’m trying to cut my sweet tooth down from once a day to once a week. It’s SO hard, you guys!

    1. That is so true ladies! Hope you guys have had a fabulous week too. Hugs, CoCo

  1. I hope you continue to get well…it’s not easy to stay in bed when we have all of these ambitious ideas in our heads (not to mention a long list of chores), but rest is the best remedy.

I loved seeing pics of your home and that gorgeous tablescape. It’s been a long time since I’ve made one, most of our get togethers are rather large so I do a buffet, but that counts, right?

Your stack of decorating books made me smile, I have each and every one of them but for the one on the top. They are irresistible to pass by in a book store or when one is recommended and Amazon is a click away!

Take care, CoCo, and follow the doctor’s orders!
