From the Front Porch

Happy Friday from the front porch you guys! How has your week been? I hope it’s been a fun one. I can hardly believe we’re already at the end of July, can you? I swear as soon as the 4th of July rolls around it feels like summer starts flying by at lightning speed. We’re planning to savor every day possible until Fall arrives and I hope you guys are too!

After having recently published another installment of, “When Love Shows Up” I just want to say from the bottom of my heart thank you again for all the love and support you guys have shown us over these past few months. You’ve made a huge difference in our lives every single day with your thoughtful comments, emails of encouragement and “thinking of you” messages. We appreciate you so much!

I’ve been in and out of town several days this week so I’ll be glad to be at home for a hot minute this weekend. It’s been a happy week celebrating birthdays in different cities, decluttering closets, searching for chairs, rugs and finishing touches. There’s nothing like being this close to having a room finished only to be searching for a totally random item like a kitchen desk chair and then immediately getting off track because you realize you need something else for a completely unrelated room ha ha. That’s where I’ve been this week!

Scenes from My Week:

* What it really looks like to try and take pictures of the tiny half bathroom.

*I planted some Salvia in our rusty wheelbarrow alongside one of our favorite plants called Blue My Mind. Looking out the kitchen window and seeing the mix of purple and blue makes me so happy. #itsthelittlethings

*My Granny used to make this stuff called Blackberry Doobie. Have you guys ever heard of it before? My mom made a batch for the first time at one of our recent Saturday Suppers and it was so good. I’ll see if she has the recipe and try to share it with you if she does.

*This “Blessed” necklace was a present from my parents and one of my favorite reminders of the important role gratitude plays in our lives. Mantra necklaces like these are fun ways to celebrate whatever mantras rock your world too!

*I just started reading this book…I think it’s going to be a good one too…

As a sixth generation Floridian, I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED seeing this article in Vogue. I know a lot of people think Miami beaches and Disney when they think Florida so it was fun to see some of our favorite parts about old Florida being recognized.

I’m currently using a 2017 planner but I’m seriously considering this planner for 2018. And BONUS, it’s free!

I hope you guys all have a peace filled and relaxing weekend. Just a few housekeeping notes, we’ll be making some changes to the blog and website over the next few weeks. I wanted to let you guys know about them now because sometimes one simple change or code alteration can make things a little wonky so I wanted to give you a heads up in advance. During this time, we’ll also be transitioning back into our regular blog schedule.

We have several fun posts coming up related to laundry organization, caring for vintage linens, the laundry room makeover at Bliss Barracks and we’re going to start dipping our toes into “all things fall” too. I know it’s still hot outside, I’m not breaking out the sweaters or the pumpkin spice lattes – I promise. As always, we’ll be back on the front porch on Friday with scenes from our week and our favorite things from around the web.

Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.

Many blessings,

CoCo

  2. CoCo,
I love it when you post some of your favorite things! Always great ideas of new things to try – the necklace as a reminder of all our many blessings – the book not just for our grief but ways to help others – the recipe to come, as anything made with fruit has to be good! – the planner pages are just so pretty – etc! Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
