From the Front Porch

Happy Friday from the front porch you guys, it’s good to have you here. My heart, like so many of yours, has been especially heavy watching the coverage from Hurricane Harvey this week. Every time I see the stories of love and loss, heroism and selfless giving from so many hardworking people coming together to help each other it just makes me totally misty-eyed.

As you guys know, storms like these take years to recover from and the rebuilding is a long and sometimes daunting process. Please do whatever you can to help whether it be donating to the Red Cross, The Humane Society or helping with supplies at your local house of worship, food bank or pet shelter.

Magnolia announced for a limited time all the proceeds from this t-shirt will be donated to the efforts. Sugar and Cloth has put together this list of ways you can help some of which are for Texas locals and The Every Girl shared this list of things you can do to help too.

Please keep all the hurricane survivors, first responders, elected officials and volunteers in your thoughts and prayers. It makes a huge difference!

Here’s a look at scenes from our week…

* My drive to work.

* Spotted at Home Depot – I can’t even take it – SO excited!

* Raise your hand if you’ve already had a Pumpkin Spice Latte, the unofficial drink of Fall – me too!

* My plans for the long weekend…pulling together more donations, sandy toes, salty hair, low country boil, good books and lots of naps.

* Reese…can we just talk about her for a second? Love, love, love! I can’t wait to see her new movie Home Again coming out on September 8th.

  1. Hey CoCo – We are Reese lovers too! She’s adorable and her personal style is spot-on. You just might need to drive some mums up to Georgia because we have not spotted a single bud here…yet. We’re never ones to give up 🙂 Hugs to you for a fabulous holiday weekend!
