From the Front Porch

Happy Thursday from the front porch, you guys! How was your week? We hope it’s been peace filled and productive as we begin to celebrate all the good things coming in the month of May.

This week has been all about finishing up the last-minute details of the bedroom makeover so that we finish strong for the One Room Challenge.  I’m so thankful we decided not to include the closet as part of the Challenge because there is no way we would have made it!

It took working most of the weekend and this week, but we finally finished the headboard, the curtains and the panels for the bed crown.  I swear making that first cut is THE scariest part of the entire process.  We wound up using 16 yards of fabric and I was literally sweating when I had to cut the fabric for the time.

My Mom came over on Monday to put a few flower arrangements together, to be an extra set of hands and to help me troubleshoot a few details so that we’re completely in order for the final staging and reveal pictures.  This is what is looks like when we get through moving and trying everything ha ha

We went shopping for accessories and found these fun pieces.  I thought that white piece that looked like a trophy was an urn but thankfully it turned out to be a bank.

While we were pulling all the elements for the bed linens together, the monogrammed sheets I had been saving since January wound up not working due to the placement of the monogram.  I ran all over town looking for a quick replace and spotted these cute farmhouse style sheets at Target.

Watching this week

I finally sat down to watch Brene’ Brown’s documentary The Call to Courage on Netflix Safter hearing so much about it and it did not disappoint! It’s very conversational so it has some salty language in it but other than that it was really good.

Many blessings,
