This Week’s Tip Sheet: Simplifying Routines
Hello beautiful friends and welcome to Week 38 of the 52 Weeks to a Simplified and Organized Home Challenge.
This week’s tip sheet was inspired by a question I ask myself multiple times a day, “How can I make this easy?”
I hope you find it helpful too!

This Week’s Tip Sheet…

This Week’s Tidy Tip:
When it comes to evaluating and simplifying our current routines, the last thing most of us want to do when we’re tired, overwhelmed, or pressed for time is to evaluate or simplify anything.
I’ve always been one of those “let’s just push through this and get it over with,” kind of people too.
But over the years, I’ve learned that simplifying things doesn’t have to be a complicated or drawn-out process.
It just needs to be helpful, purposeful, and easy to maintain.
Most people talk about simplifying their morning, evening or self-care routines.
But there are parts of our daily routines we can simplify too.
For example…
- Simplify your spaces by spending 15 minutes a day decluttering. One of the easiest ways to declutter is by category (shirts, pants, books, pantry items, paper clutter, etc.).
- Simplify your week by taking an hour on Saturday or Sunday afternoons to help set the following week up for success.
- Simplify your menu by planning by the month instead of planning by the week.
- Simplify your calendar by learning to say no.
- Simplify your mornings but creating a nightly power hour dedicated to prepping and organizing the following day.
- Simplify getting dressed by picking out your clothes in advance, giving yourself a daily uniform, or creating a capsule wardrobe.
- Simplify your purse with an organizer insert.
- Simplify mental real estate by keeping a journal, minding your news and social media consumption, setting timers and reminders, or utilizing a second brain system.
- Create intentional systems to simplify your 5-9 in the same way you would simplify your 9-5
- Simplify home and work tasks by time blocking, batching similar items together, by automating an existing routine such as paying bills or using AI to help make tasks easier.
- Simplify your errands by doing them all on the same day or on days you know you’ll already be out and about.
- Simplify your peace of mind by creating a list of predetermined non-negotiables or a “bronze standard” for sick and hectic days.
This Week’s Wellness Tip:
It might seem like a lot of work at first but simplifying your daily routines can help:
- Make room for what matters most
- Support your goals
- Create an environment that supports your wellbeing
- Save you time
- Give you white space to think, dream, create, and problem solve
As always, I hope this week’s Tip Sheet has helped.
Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.
Cheering you on as you prepare and plan this season,
