It’s seems hard to believe as much as I love to bake but I can’t remember ever making gingerbread cookies until this year. My family usually makes sugar cookies each year and we have a good time decorating all the different shapes. I was sure I was going to win the cookie decorating contest over the Thanksgiving holiday at Loblolly Manor but my mom pulled a fast one on us at the last minute.
One topic that keeps coming up with my family is how to store everything we’ve been baking this holiday season. We’ve definitely gone through our fair share of cookies. We needed something that would well but we also wanted a way to personalize our cookie containers. You may have passed up cookie or popcorn tins at your local thrift store but we’ve found a way to give them new life.
The kitchen is really a workhorse for us during this time of year as we stock up on hearty soups, dinner party fixins and bake lots of goodies. One of my favorite trees is a food themed Christmas tree that actually belongs to my mom. I’ve gotten a few emails for a closer look at the ornaments so I thought I would share them with you today.

I almost always put my own spin on holiday gift wrap. By now I’m guessing you’re in full holiday decorating mode and probably shopping mode too.
