We’re sharing a quick and easy DIY celebration memory board idea today!
Let me ask you a serious question.
How many times have you crawled into bed after a wildly busy day unable to remember how you actually spent it?
Or were gobsmacked by how quickly a week or a month went by?
Or asked yourself, “Where has the year gone?” on December 31st.
Without a doubt, I’ve 100% been there too!
In fact, knew something had to change when I found myself referring to the previous month’s calendar because I couldn’t figure out how we’d spent our days either.
The good news is that we don’t have to stay stuck in that space.
We can be the architects of our own lives any time we choose.
This quick and easy celebration memory board idea is fantastic because it allows you to physically see where your time is going and how you’re spending your days.
It’s been a game-changer for our family and I hope it helps you as well.
Here’s a look at how to create a quick and easy DIY celebration memory board…
DIY Celebration Memory Board Supplies:
- Large Picture Frame (with backing) or Cork Board
- Plain Kraft Paper or Wrapping Paper (thicker paper works better)
- Measuring Tape or Ruler
- Push Pins, Double-Sided Tape, or Glue Adhesive
- Numbers or Letters Banner (optional)
DIY Celebration Memory Board Steps:
Gather your supplies and make sure your work surface is free from dirt, debris, and clutter.
Use a ruler or a measuring tape to gather the measurements of your corkboard or picture frame.
Then using caution and care as scissors will be sharp, cut your kraft paper or heavy-duty wrapping paper to size.
Next, place the paper on the top of your corkboard or inside your picture frame.
Secure in place with push pins or glue adhesive.
Next add an embellishment such as the current year or the name of your quick and easy DIY celebration memory board recipient, if desired.
Here is the board I made in January of last year.
And here is how your board would look if you were using it to kick off a celebration like a birthday or anniversary.
This would also be such a fun idea to help kids and teenagers chart special events during the school year too.
Finally, use markers or pens to write down the important moments that matter most to you throughout the year!
You can keep track of the events by the week, month, or as they happen.
On Milestones and Making Memories…
What we love about this quick and easy DIY celebration memory board is that it allows you to visually keep track of how you’re spending your days.
And once you understand how you’re spending your days it becomes crystal clear how you’re prioritizing your life.
I know it can be easy to get caught up in the big trips, the important promotions, and the milestone moments.
Believe me, I do.
But sometimes the big moments are few and far between.
So, don’t be afraid to record the little moments that feel big on your quick and easy DIY celebration memory board.
They tend to come around more often and they’re just as important.
If last year, didn’t turn out as you expected, I encourage you to start tracking how you’re spending your days.
You don’t have to wait for the new year, the school year, or even a new month to begin.
You can start any time you’re ready to design a life you truly love.
