From the Front Porch

Happy Friday, from the front porch you guys.  Thanks so much for making us a part of your day.

We hope your week has been slow and easy.  Holiday weeks are the best!

This week has been the perfect combination of peace filled, productive and learning to let go, as we take stock of the past 5 months and look forward to the summer season.

I took the week completely off social media save for previously schedule pins for Pinterest.  It gave me lots of extra time to think and prioritize upcoming goals. This is the first time I’ve ever taken an extended break like that but it felt so good!

I also deep cleaned the house, picked up lots of plants for the porch and the flower beds, mowed the lawn, started working on the final details of the master bedroom refresh, celebrated my sweet neice, and started our June book of the month.

All in all, it’s been a good week.

Quote of the Week and Free Printable…

I know May’s book of the month was a little bittersweet for some of you and I completely underestand why it left you feeling a little prickly.

Truthfully, I struggled through the last chapter based on something that recently happened in my own life. So, I’m holding on to the last line of this quote and I hope it helps some of you too.

This month, we’ll be reading Jennie Allen’s Get Out Of Your Head: Stopping the Spiral of Toxic Thoughts.  It’s another faith based book filled with stories, and scripture.

From what I’ve read so far, it’s going to be one of those books that causes you to stop and think about what you’re thinking about.  Then helps you transform and reframe your thinking to a more postive and healthy way.

There seems to be a lot of tough love in this book so just take the parts that work for you and leave the rest.

July, we’ll tackle The Art of Showing Up: How to be There for Yourself and Your People by Rachel Wilkerson Miller

And in August, we’ll read Love Does by Bob Goff
