From the Front Porch

Happy Friday from the front porch you guys! How has your week been? We hope this week has been productive and filled with adventure as we celebrate the last week of March.

The weather in Florida has been perfect for wrapping up all the last-minute details on the lanai makeover at my parent’s primary home, Bliss Barracks.  Our goal was to finish the lanai by the end of March and I’m excited to say we made it! I’m headed there this morning to take the photos for the final reveal post which I’ll share once we’ve finished sharing all our spring content.

While it hasn’t always been easy to coordinate our schedules, we’ve made it work and I think my Mom is happy with how everything is coming together.  In the end, that’s what it’s all about anyway, right?

Here’s another peek at the outdoor dining table my dad built!

Scenes from our week…

I know several of you have dark furniture and have a more traditional style than my farmhouse style.  Bliss Barracks is very traditional with lots of plaids and rich woods too.  I snapped this photo of my Mom’s dining room table all set up for Easter while I was there last week.  One of my talented cousin’s made this floral arrangement.

I love these cabbage plates!

Remember when we picked up these vintage napkins at Renninger’s in January?

Here’s a sneak peek at the urns we’re using on the lanai makeover. Those white roses get me every time!

52 Weeks to a Simplified & Organized Home Challenge

If you’re part of our 52 Weeks to a Simplified and Organized Home Challenge we’re completing Week 13 Master Bathroom Cabinets and Countertops and looking forward to Week 14, Linen Closets.

I hope you all have a peace filled and happy weekend.  We’ll be thankfully keeping it pretty low key as we finish up a few tax and end of the month related items.  I’m hoping we can visit a new plant nursery to pick up some flowers for Tally’s memory garden and grab dinner at the beach.  Our April is going to be kind of bananas with travel and birthday plans so I’m definitely embracing the quiet time and white space while I can!

Whatever you have planned I hope it’s something you’re excited about too.  I can’t wait to see you back here next week. Until next time, I’ll see you on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.

Many blessings,

CoCo

  1. Another great week Coco. All your garden posts have me ready to get outside with the girls and plant some new things. Have a great weekend

    1. You’re always so sweet, Sarah! It’s always so much fun to plant and grow things in the garden each season no matter if you’re planting veggies or container gardens. I hope you and the girls had a great weekend. Hugs, CoCo

  2. Hey CoCo – your inspiration pieces make us wish that we had property large enough to plant a garden. Sadly, it gets so hot here in the Summertime – container gardens dry out way too quickly…like within hours. Until then, we are on the hunt for the perfect roadside stand for our vegetables! Much love!
