From the Front Porch: New Year, New You
Hello, sweet friends.
Welcome to the New Year, New You edition of this weekly series.
How has your week been?
One of my favorite things about January is just how many of us kick off the year with a list.
A list of goals and dreams.
A list of intentions.
A list of INs and OUTs and non-negotiables.
Bucket lists filled with travel ideas, “To Be Read” lists filled with fabulous book titles, shopping lists with capsule wardrobe pieces to pick up and lists with DIY project ideas to complete.
In addition to keeping these lists in my planner, one thing I’ve started doing this year, is keeping some of them on the back of my vision board as well.
That way I can easily see and update the lists throughout the year.
No matter what kind of lists you’re making, I want to reassure you it’s ok if you’re still figuring things out.
I’ve found over the years that my success rate is so much higher when I focus on one thing at a time, honor habits, healthy choices, routines and rituals that are already serving me well instead of trying to do a major life overhaul, looking for small tweaks that make big impacts, celebrating wins, learning how to pivot quickly and adjusting my expectations along the way.
So, remember to lean into this cozy month filled with unexpected beauty and decide what is truly important to you in this season of life.
There’s still plenty of time to chase what your heart desires most.
