Rose Petal Bath Soak and Salt Scrub

We’re sharing how to make a quick and easy rose petal bath soak and salt scrub today!

One of my goals this year is to buy more real flowers and potted plants.

It’s not that faux flowers and plants no longer have a place.

They still do.

It’s just that I’m trying to be more intentional about when and where I use faux flowers.

I’ve recently discovered one of the beauties of having bouquets of real flowers scattered around the house is you can repurpose them into something else once the petals have dried out.

And since we’ve been working on our morning and nightly routines, I thought I would share how to make a quick and easy rose petal bath soak and salt scrub in case you wanted to try it too.

  • Dried Rose Petals (from organic roses)
  • Pink Himalayan Epsom Salt
  • Pink Sea Salt and Rose Water Body Wash (this OGX brand smells amazing!)
  • Blender (this is our blender in case you’re curious)
  • Bowl
  • Spoon
  • Food Safe Jar with Air Tight Lid

Quick and Easy Rose Petal Bath Soak and Salt Scrub Steps:

Gather your supplies.

I let these rose petals dry naturally for around 7 days.

But there are several other methods you use to dry them.

The key is to make sure the petals are completely dry, as rose petals can mold.

Once your rose petals are completely dry and ready to be used, place them in a blender and lightly blend.

The amount of dried rose petals you need will depends on the size of your batch.

I crafted a small batch of rose petal bath salts for a one time use soak and a rose petal salt scrub which is approximately 2-3 uses depending on how much you use.

I blended these dried rose petals on 1 and they came out a mix of big and small pieces.

For a small batch, add 2/3 cup of pink Himalayan bath salts into a bowl.

Then added 1/8 cup of pink sea salt and rose water shower gel at a time until I got the consistency I wanted.

Stir with a spoon until the salt and shower gel are combined.

Then carefully fold the rose petals into the mixture.

Now, if you want to make a rose petal bath salts soak, simply omit the shower gel and combine the bath salts and the dried rose petals.

I usually add a few extra rose petals.

Finally, place your rose petal salt scrub

and rose petal bath salts in a food safe airtight container.

Be sure to store in a cool and dry place.

Enjoy!

Things To Keep in Mind…

Safety First

While I have never personally had this experience, it’s worth noting that baking soda which is sometimes found in bath salt recipes can on occasion cause an airtight container to explode as the humidity can activate the baking soda and cause air pressure and gasses to build up.

So, make sure you carefully read the ingredients before purchasing supplies and store and use recipes properly.

Also, be sure the rose petals don’t go down your drain.

You’ll need to use a fine mesh drain in the shower and a fine mesh bag in the bathtub.

This not only helps keep the rose petals from going down the drain, it makes cleaning up a lot easier too!

In addition, if you use the rose petal scrub, the mixture may settle at the bottom of the jar and you may have to mix it up again.

Finally, remember to always use caution and care as soaks, scrubs and containers like these may become slippery after use.

Safety is key so make sure to properly clean out the shower and the bathtub so there is no slippery residue.

I hope you enjoy this rose petal salt soak and scrub recipe.

It truly smells amazing and there’s nothing like elevating a shower or tub experience after a long day.
