This Week’s Tip Sheet: Morning Routine and Workout Routine
Hello beautiful friends and welcome to Week 6 of the 52 Weeks to a Simplified and Organized Home Challenge.
This week is all about our morning and workout routines.
And I’ll freely admit, there’s been no shortage of ideas to explore over the past few years.
Especially on YouTube and social media.
Let’s be honest though, some of them have so many steps they feel downright overwhelming.

Late last year, our morning routine and workout routine changed pretty drastically due to a significant home life/work life transition.
It was a struggle to find our footing at first.
So, with every tweak and change I asked myself…
- “How do I want to feel when I wake up?”
- “How can I get the best from the day?”
I can’t speak for you, but for me to get the best from the day, I need to feel put together, to be prepped and organized, to nourish my mind, body and spirit, and to be well rested.
Simply knowing those things in advance helps me to get a game plan together.
It means I need to:
- Have an easy-to-follow morning skincare and makeup routine.
- Plan outfit ideas early and lay them out each night.
- Keep my calendar/schedule up to date.
- Know what the priorities are for each day so I can hit the ground running.
- Plan, prep and grocery shop healthy meal options.
- Drink water before coffee.
- Make time for daily gratitude, affirmations, meditation, and devotional.
- Go for a morning walk.
- Prioritize sleep.
When I think about how I want to feel when I wake up, well-rested, grateful, calm, and focused immediately come to mind.
That means, I need to:
- Wake up in a bedroom that is clutter free and relaxing, wearing pajamas that are soft and to an alarm that is not jarring.
- Start the day with gratitude before getting out of bed.
- Make time to complete a nightly routine for a more successful day.
I think sometimes we overcomplicate our routines because we feel pressure to do something we don’t have the energy to do but feel like we “should” do.
The truth is once you start making small changes that have a big impact, you’ll realize how easy it was all along.
You simply needed the courage to get started.
Now, on to This Week’s Tip Sheet!

This Week’s Tidy Tips:
Tidying the house before leaving for work can sometimes seem like a lofty goal.
So, take the pressure off and think of these tasks as a way to reset your most commonly used morning spaces.
- Straighten the house with a 15-minute clutter catcher, load and run the dishwasher and clean the kitchen before you go to bed. That way, you’ll wake up to a clean kitchen and a tidy house.
- Make your bed before you take your shower.
- Tidy up your bathroom by putting pajamas and towels in the laundry hamper. Put items from your morning skincare, makeup and hair routine back into their designated drawer, pouch or cabinet.
- Wipe out your bathroom sinks.
- Put away your workout equipment.
- Start a load of laundry.
- Unload the dishwasher.
- Clean up your breakfast dishes and the items you used to make your lunch.
- Wipe down sinks, counters, and tables.
- Vacuum the kitchen and the breakfast nook if you have time.
